This project explores an excerpt from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein through modular grids, intentional typesetting, and visual hierarchy. I focused on creating a balance between structure and controlled chaos, allowing the layout to mirror the instability and emotional tension within the text. The palette of dark red, black, and beige was chosen to reinforce themes of loneliness and unease, while selective breaks in the grid introduced moments of disruption that echo the narrative’s tone. This piece became an investigation into how type, color, and spatial composition can translate literary atmosphere into visual form.
